    RXP Engine Locked up

    I had started a thread on my RXP which I thought had overheated and seized after I replaced the SC Washers but after engine dissassembly I learned that the rear piston rod had seized on the crankshaft. It had gotten so hot that it turned the rod blue. Also the main bearing journal next to that rod was also slightly scored.

    Needless to say I will need a crank and at least one piston / connecting rod assembly. It is obvious that these components did not get properly lubricated (yes the oil was full). Question, does anyone know of issues with the oil pumps or the oil nozzels? This failure occurred on the back cylinder (driveshaft end) the cylinder was also slighly scored (.010 or .020 should clean it up). The other rods, bearings, pistons all look fine.

    CeramicWashers

    Didyou replace the ceramic washers because they failed? If they came apart then they could have clogged the oil pump.

    No they had not failed, I only replaced to prevent future engine damage in case they failed. The engine had 70 hours on it and the ceramic washers were in perfect condition.
