Thread: Carb Question

Does anyone know what size jets are suppose to be in Keihin carbs on a 1050? My main jet is 150 it looks like, pilot jet is 08 and mid range jet is 09. Engine is ported. Are these the right jets for it? Engine is cutting out at 6400 rpms, since I installed V- Force reeds.

What year and model did the carbs come on?...need to know as they changed carb sizes during the 1050 years. Not sure where you are getting the numbers for your pilot and mids...there are no numbers like that for Keihin jets. You can go to this link and look the carb info up on the year and model watercraft.

It is a 97 Sl. Thats the numbers I got off the jets I took out. I may have read the pilot and mid jet wrong tho. Could of been upside down. Going to recheck them when I get home.

Ok, Im not schooled on carbs. The main jet is a 150, Pilot jet is a 80 and mid-range jet is a 60. Found the jets in the manual, and it shows the main jet to be a 158, pilot is 75 and center, I guess thats the mid range to be a 152. Should that be right? And does anyone have these jets they can sell me?

The 97 SL1050 came with 40mm carbs with out an accelerator pump on the mag cylinder. These carbs only used 2 jets (high and low) no mid jets.
If you have mid jets, you probably have an accel pump.I would say they are later model carbs and probably jetted to the engine/engine work.Sorta like a custom jetting, stock #'s don't apply.
