    2002 Freeedom - No Spark

    First time posting but have read a lot - thanks for help in advance.
    Above is a common problem by he looks of previous posts.
    Have Manual - Multi tester - Fair Mechanical Ability
    Follwed directions from several threads.

    Battery Full Charge
    Start/stop switch checks - ok
    Lanyard checks - ok

    I'm questioning the LR505 module - why
    Red/Purple (R/P) wire to CDI no power - so I backtrack

    1. Power from bat (red wire) into electric box - ok
    2. Into and across circuit Breaker - ok
    3. R/P out from breaker, split to stator - ok, to board bus - ok
    4. R/P from board bus to LR505 Module - ok
    5. Orange (switched) out from LR505 - no power - is that right?
    6. Orange to another board bus with CB for Bilge Pump
    7. Another Orange wire out of bus with inline connector to R/P wire into CDI.

    So there is no power from R/P into CDI which I believe I'm suppose to have. Is that correct?

    Any input would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    PM Ph20craft if it's like the other polaris's that year there is a change in the wiring you have to make .

    You will not get power out of the orange wire until engine is cranking or running.
    Check to see if you get power to the red/purple at the CDI while cranking. If you do, it verifies the LR505 is switching the voltage as required.
    If you still get no power to the CDI, either the LR505 is not switching or the stator (yellow wire) is not signaling the LR505 to switch power to the orange wire.

    Thanks.

    I just checked. I do get power out of the LR505 while cranking from the orange which goes to an electric board terminal (with the bilge fuse - and orange/black wire to bilge pump).

    On orange also comes off the same board, is "in line" connected to a R/P wire and runs into the CDI so the CDI box is getting power while cranking.

    I'm open as to what to check next.

    Test the stator next.
    Then the coils.
    If they test good, replace the CDI.

    Be SURE the battery has at least 10.6 volts at the battery while cranking the engine. This is still the most common non-start failure!!
