    Is The Bilge Button A Momentary Switch Or Off/on Switch?thanks

    Momentary but it also is operational (powered up)whilst engine is running

    That is, the bilge pump receives continuous power from the electrical system while the engine is running.

    So pressing the bilge button should only affect the pump (make it run while pressed) when the engine is off.

    If your bilge is running by itself when the engine is off, either the bilge button or wiring is shorted, or the 'engine running' feed for the bilge has a problem.
