    Ski At Night! Why Not?

Why is it illegal to use PWC's at night? West Marine sells a little boat navigation set.Whats the difference between a ten foot boat and a ten foot ski?

    It's a good question...
I think it's illegal in Florida with or without lights...
I guess they feel like with our combination of speed and fast handling it's just too dangerous to ourselves and others... PWC can turn faster and change directions a lot faster than other boats, reduced visibility makes it too big a risk?

Reduced visibility leads to more accidents, the high performance aspect of PWC's doesn't help either. It is also easier to fall off a PWC than fall out of a boat, especially if you can't see wave heights.

Do you really want the people who can't drive in full daylight to be out there during the night?

Very true... almost every weekend i will have almost been hit by some dumb*** in a pontoon with 15 people on it and he has no worry in the world... Or a go fast with its bow in the air... I think its the falling off factor why its illegal to ride at nite.

In Texas, it's illegal to operate a pwc between 30 min before dusk and, I believe, up to 30 minutes after dawn.

The Canadian Swamp King rides at night legally so he explains, with some nice led lights. He's also nuts in a good way

I think it would be pretty tough to ride a ski and operate a spot light.

I know one guy who rode at night drunk.... he hit a rock about 6 inches under the surface at 50 mph .

Now there is a ski with no bottom

    Sure would be fun though!
I would never do it, FYI.
