GPS testing 2006 RXP and Stage 1 upgrade

    Air Temperature: 88-90 degrees
    Water Temperature: 84-88 degrees
    Water: Slightly Rippled to Smooth
    Rider Weight: 215 pounds
    Fuel Level: 1/3 full
    GPS: Garmon EVISTA
Trim Level: Just below halfway mark

    Stock Testing :
2006 RXP (red one, 14 hours): 66.7 MPH at 8100-8120 RPM
2006 RXP (gold one, 18 hours): 68.4 MPH at 7900 RPM

Stage 1 testing (gold ski, red one will remain STOCK)
2006 RXP (gold one): 69.0 MPH (same conditions as above) at 7940****

    ****SIDE NOTES:
After these skis were in for their 10 hour service , the GOLD ski appeared to me to be slighly slower then what I had originally testing it at. After checking oil level, I found it was a about 1/2-3/4 quart overfilled so I reduced level to halfway on indentation on dipstick and ski picked up about 50 RPM. Next up for the GOLD SKI is a Riva Stage 2 kit.

The top speed was only marginally better with the Stage 1 upgrade BUT the acceleration was improved over stock . The Ski in rougher water does porpoise more due to Stage 1 pump wedge but that will be elimanated with OPAS blockoffs. It can also more consistently hit top speed

I am having my SEADOO dealer do the work on these skis in order eliminate any potential hassles with warranty issues. FYI, the dealer charged 385.00 to do the RIva stage 1 upgrade and also charged 200.00 for the 10 hour service on each ski.

My ski runs faster stock than yours with a level one.
    When I added a prop and a grate I was running 71.
There seems to be something not quite right with your speeds. It should be faster.
You would probably get better results with the trim 1 notch above the middle.

By the way, they are ripping you off on the 10 hour service.

    BOATADDICT,

I think speeds are right where they should be . You probably have 10-15 degrees cooler air temperature In Fact it is 79 degrees there NOW and it is 102 degrees her NOW at 2:10 CST. Quite frankly I am not concerned about the money part.

When I did the last 71 mph run it was in the eighties at the end of a long ride.
The lake temp was 10 degrees lower though.

Boataddict are you sure your not running in some colder temps. He has some pretty high air/water temps.

I think he needs to pull a mm out of the prop and work on getting more outside air to the intake. Look into gettting a 158F thermostat or do the 30 dollar thermostat mod.
    Also fill the rideplate/grate holes.

    He should be 70+.

Your RPM's are way low and you are losing 2-3 mph. You need some pitch work on that prop and/or a new wear ring.

    Thanks Kinchyle,
I am an old pro at hot rodding cars but a relative rookie at hot rodding jetskis. I appreciate the input guys. This is a brand new 14/19R Solas Prop that comes with Stage 1 kit.

As far as pitch work is concerned, what do you guys suggest and WHO can do the work???
