    Width of a double trailer

Can anyone tell me how wide of a door i need to get a double trailer with 2 rxps on it? My local storage place has doors 8 1/2 wide but I am not sure that will be enough.

    I got a double LoadRite

My garage doors are 8' 9" inside the weather strip trim.

There is 1/2"-1" room for error...after I relocated the side markers on the fenders.

    Good luck.

The maximum width for a trailer is 8 ft or 96 in but like Shibby said the skis hang over a little so the very minimum would be a 9 ft door. I have a 10 ft door on my shop and wish it was wider.

Uhm...incorrect...mine measures 8' 5 1/2" from the outside edges of both fenders...add in some tire?

My skis don't over hang the fenders.

I wish my doors were 10'ers too. An inch or two disappears in a hury if you are just a bit out of alignment backing into a tight doorway.

Yes Varedneck I think my trailer is a little wider than 8 ft also but I think law states 8 ft max. That may be axle width,I'm not sure.

Man I bought my double over a year ago, got it home with my new RXP, pulled her up to the garage and looked at the width and thought OMG, is it gonna fit? Well I reluctantly went and got the tape measure, my trailer was 96" and the width of the garage door was 101" Whew that was close!

Alabama,Arizona,Delaware,DC,Florida,Georgia,Illino is,Kentucky,Louisiana,Maryland,Michigan,North Carolina and West Virginia; 102 inches permitted on interstates and designated routes only, all other roads 96 inches.
New Jersey,Pennsylvania,New York and Oklahoma similiar but has do do with highway width.
    Nebraska 96 inches only
Some other states law states 102 inches but that includes mirrors and any other attachments.
Massachutts and New Hampshire 102 inches interstate only. Most western states were 102 inches with exception of Arizona.
    Hawaii 108 inches.
So in summary it varies from state to state.
