    OPAS handling?

I am looking at an 05 RXT (for only $5475 bty [gauge cluster is cracked and will need to be fixed for $750] but still a good deal I think)

My question is stability wise are the RXTs better than GTIs?

    and

I have never ridden the RXT but in my experiences with the GTI I feel as though when I lose contact with the water then re-enter, i feel as though I am getting tossed around to the point where I might fly off. In researching threads I am attributing that the the OPAS. I am I right in my attribution?

With the OPAS removed will I find it more consitent and less like I am going to get thrown?

    Thanks for the information.

Not sure if this will help or not...... I have a RXP and RXT, I have noticed on the RXT what you describe in terms of the ski kinda steering itself in side/side chop (not so much in hitting waves/chop straight on) where it feels like it has a mind of its own. My RXP will also show a bit of this behavior when Im trimmed down (1/2 way or less). I think the RXT chine walks due to it not being trimmed up enough from the factory, I have heard that a pump wedge helps this some. Both of mine obviously have the OPAS but as I mentioned above I think the problem is more of a trim issue.

I think that chine walking is just part of the nature of the hull in a side to side chop conditions. My GTX still has this behavior even with the wedge and skegs.

I was hoping to here this!

That is my biggest concern, other brands I have ridden just do not do this.
