WE LIVE ON THE WATER AND LEAVE THE SKI AT THE PIER IN THE WATER, ANYONE COULD PULL UP AND PULL THE LITTLE SWITCH OUT AND IT WOULD CRANK RIGHT UP. JUST WANDERED WE JUST BOUGHT IT AND IT DIDN'T HAVE A MANUAL. THANKS.............

you should be able to lock it with the mfd. Hold it down for a few seconds and release it should say enter code, 4 digit code factory setting is 1234 if it was changed like mine and orig owner did not know it I had to enter numbers until I found it.

There is a reset procedure if the security code is not known, and the code is no longer the default of 1234.

Both the owners manual and the 2002 Service Manual describe how to use the MFI lock feature.

You set the security code to your own number first (you will enter this code twice, after entering the old code).

Once the security code has been set to your own code, THEN you can use the lock feature of the MFI, per the manual.
