    RXT Hood Problem--HELP!

Appears as though the rod lost a nut, simple enough---reconnected the ball and socket at the bottom but now the rod is sticking up too long and won't go down in order to fit back in the hole at the top (see photo)... tried to push it down but don't want to crack anything... do you have to take the hood off or is there a trick to this?

u need to compress the gas shock to get that back in there...

long pry bar, jam it in the bracket under the hood and use the bow hook nuts as leverage and compress the gas shock until u can pop that back into the slot on the hood...

there is a slot in the bracket that the shock is attached to.. just take a half inch socket wrench and put the square into the slot.it use the wrench to compress..it works great

also, that rod is held in place by a washer and a clip , not a nut.
