    iPod help

I just lost my whole library but luckily I had it backed up on an external hard drive Is there any reason for my library to just delete itself? it will take hours to reload my ipod

Hmmm, that sucks bro... my daughter had this happen to her but I think it happened when she tried to move the iPod from her PC to a Mac and iTunes asked her if she wanted to SYNC the playlist, at which point her existing playlists were deleted...

Smart that you had a back up! I've been using Time Machine for that too...

I tell you I love these little iPods, got one in the car and another one for the RXT... kinda turns you into your own radio station...

did you check your computer to see if the hard drive had a lot of space freed up? maybe just the things in your library were just out of the library but were still on the hard drive. and i'm with YoYamma. iPods are the best for music and video . i've got a 5th gen. Video 80GB, a 3rd gen. nano 8GB (now my dad's), and my favorite, iPod touch 16GB with January Software Update (Mail, Stocks, Maps, Weather, and Notes) and iPhones 2.0 Software Update (App Store, Scientific Calculator, and Microsoft Exchange Server support)

Yeah, dang I am getting old, I have seen the death of the 45, the LP album, the 8 track, the cassette and now the demise of the CD... well GOOD RIDDANCE, they were all a pain in the azz, and now I can cherry-pick the music I like on iTunes...
