new guy with problems with fuel pump

My SL 900 Polaris was sitting for a couple of year and I just took it apart and it looks like the fuel pump is not working. I tried to look for the part on the Polaris website but could not find it, and my local store says he canít get parts for Polaris anymore. does anybody know exactly were i can get it?

    Thanks in advanced

I presume you are sure you have good compression, since the fuel pump relies on the compression pulses to pump fuel.

What does the good compresion come from the fuel pump for the SL 900 is electric.

Not from the factory. If you have an electric fuel pump, it was installed after-market.

All carburetor Polaris engines were made with a pulse type mechanical fuel pump, powered by a fitting on the side of the crank case.

The only Polaris with electric fuel pumps as standard are the fuel injected Ficht 2-stroke and the Weber 4-stroke engines.

The bilge water pump would be electric, if you have one.

There are two wires that go to the fuel pump of the SL900 and only 3 tubes that go to it, one being a vent. but on the SL700 there are no wires going to it and four tubes.

    What are the wires for?

Fuel level sending unit. Maybe you can tell us your symptoms so we can help you out but I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say you have a bad battery or need an ignition update kit.
