    64mph on 3 different rxps?

3 of us went out yesterday with a gps and we all were running around 64mph. Are the supercharged skis really that slow in the summer heat? Air temp was 90 with high humidity and water temp was showing 84 on the dash we all had half - 3/4 and rpms was around 7800 on all 3 skis.

First of all what year and how many hours on them? And No they are not all that slow. The heat does have some factor in it.My skis dont lose but maybe 40 Rs in the heat..Your RPMs are way low.You guys should be at 8100 on the tach.

2 are 06's with 42hrs and 70hrs and the other is a 08 with 30hrs. In wet suit weather we all turn 8100 rpms no problem but once the bay warms up we drop down to around 7800

WOW i have never had my 2 drop off like that in the heat. I take it these machines are all stock? One option would be go with the adjustable venturi for the pump.Another would be to open up the air intake and let the SC breathe a little better..

300rpms is absolutely normal. It also helps to know what your corrected altitude is... Not just "it shore waz hot today."

Here are your tools. Use them.

This will help you determine what your REAL altitude is to the engine.

Use this site to determine your barometric pressure, humidity, temps, etc.

Unless you regularly track your info, then you will never know what your engine saw that particular day.

    Generally speaking:
    -colder is better.
    -higher pressure is better.
    -lower humidity is better.

    Pressure is huge.

Yea, here is Texas heat I have lost 200 Rpm's...

Best thing to help prevent this is to do the Thermostate kit. Rotax or Riva. It drops the engines operationg temps so you do not have as much heat fad..
Also i run fans into the engine compartment to reduce more heat with my
    all outside air intake.

I've seen a pretty good drop with the heat. Prior to the Thermo mod the most I would turn on the 100+ days was 7700-7750. (GPS'd at 65) Now I can turn 7850-7900. In the same conditions.
See the thread on the $30 thermo mod, for a quick and relatively painless fix to the summer heat problem.
