Feed Back On A 99 GSXL In the Surf
Hey guys looking for a new surf ski been jumping waves lately and loving it.
Would like to get something smaller than my GPR.(maybe a GSX)
I accually rode a 99 SPX on the weekend very nimble and quick and the tricks you can pull with these ski is amazing but i didn t feel safe like there was nothing around me i think i am so use to GPR. or Maybe i just have to suck it up and get use to a smaller ski.
I am no pro wave jumper but really am getting into and would like to start learning tricks and the GPR is to big for that.
What do people think of the GSX for wave jumping and pulling small tricks with any concern to look out for. Positive or Negative feed back would be great any years beter than others.

If it is jumping you want then you need an older x4 with the 787 powervalve engine. 1996 xp would be the ski of choice unless you want a blaster but they are very tippy and harder to get back on after you crash.

The 99 SPX is the same as a 96 XP, both had the 800 motor...
My first ski was a 99 GSXL, and it was quick and nimble...
But remember, its the rider that makes the ski handle, not just the ski itself...The X4 is perfect for small lakes and wave jumping, the GSX hull is a little larger and stable for jumping too...
Both are good...

my all time choice would be the X4 hull as well...
97-99 SPX or the 96 XP

Agree with all info on the X4 hull being the pick. I just felt like there was nothinmg around me with that hull maybe i just need more ride time on it.
Thats why asking the question on the GSX hull little bigger all round but don t kow much about that ski issue to look out for and basically what there like in the Surf.
