    RAVE valves question!!???

I just bought a 96 XP and I noticed after the first time riding the rave valve well one of them was leaking oil. It was the one on the cycl. to the back of the engine so I did a little looking up and seen their is supposed to be a sping in their, Its not their the other one's have a spring could this damage the engine and how do I get it to stop leaking oil I can send pictures if that would help.

Make sure your bellows isn't ripped, if not then replace the big round spring that holds the top part of the bellows to the black "disk". Mine was leaking oil once too. I replaced that big spring, that looked like it was ok, but apparently not, 'cause afterwards, no leak!!

You can also shorten the springs and make them tighter.

you will see that the spring on one end 'screws' into the other end of the spring. unscrew the spring, clip the end of the spring with the hole in it (the other end tapers to a point). then screw the spring back together.
