    Need advise

New here but have gathered a world of info in a short time... THANKS TO ALL!
Ok so here is a dumb question but I need an answer. I bought a 94 sl750 after a short run it burned the third cylinder. After time here I have learned of the fuel pump and lines so that work will be done. My question is... Can i just do a top end? or do i need to do a complete rebuild? Small hole in piston but that material went somewhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need reliable skis for the wifey and chitlins. I will be sending my carbs to Watcon and making things as right as possible, and all the fuel systems upgrades, ant other advise?

    Thanks again.

the fuji motors can be real reliable if they are taken care of....what i would do is tear it all apart and just look through it...if you see foreign pieces in the lower case i would almost say i rebuilt crank might be needed just because the rods may be out of phase or the foreign material could have gotten into the bearings...I would also recommend a tripple outlet fuel pump...i believe john zigler(forum member here) has them for a real reasonable price...if you could take some pictures of the damage and post them up here, there are a bunch of polaris guru's here that can help too

Most of the guys rebuild the one bad cylinder, perform the fuel upgrades and the craft turns out just fine.
Do be sure to check the crank index just to make sure it's not out of phase and contributing to the holed piston.

Can you do a compression test to check the condition of the other 2 cyls?

If they're low, I'd rebuild the whole top end. If they're fine, do just the bad cylinder.
