Thread: Inductive Clamp?

Hey guys, does anyone know if an inductive clamp will work on the RXP's? I am looking to pickup the new LM-2 and want to use the RPM monitor function to graph RPM's to AFR. The LM-2 can read RPM's from an inductive clamp and was just wondering if I got one would it work? Thanks!

Wouldn't you need access to a plug wire to use the inductive clamp? I think that it would be impossible to do on the coil packs... Ron

Yeah I figured... I just did not know if the signal was being sent somewhere that it could be read.

It's the high voltage spike that's being read through a spark plug wire. What about pulling one of the coil packs and putting a short section of spark plug wire in there? The you'd have something to clamp onto. It might work, but I would leave it like that for normal riding... Ron

I would be worried about blowing something up... if there is no other way then I will just leave it be.
