    Sea-doo Denied My Warranty Claim

    I Have A 2006 Rxp
About A Month Ago My Carbon Seal Went, So I Brought It In And They Covered It Under Warranty . Then 2 Weeks Later While I Was Riding My Engine Shattered In To Pieces .so I Brought It Back To My Dealer. They Told Me That The Technical Support Told Them That It Was My Fault That The Engine Hydro-locked. But Mean While When I Had The Carbon Seal Go,thats When It Was Taking In Water
Now Can Somebody Tell Me, Is This Shady Or What???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If They Dont Cover This I Will Take Theyre Asses To Court.
If Any 1 Has Recomendations OR ANY PROBLEMS THEYVE HAD Plz Reply

Very sorry to hear this, maybe try another dealer and/or call corporate and plead your case with patience and hope they will respond. When I needed warranty work they came through for me so I really can't complain personally but I feel your pain...

So when the seal leaked , did the ski take enough water to fill the engine at that time ?
Did you take the ski in to the dealer with water in the engine ?
Did you get the water out of the engine yourself before taking it in to the dealer ? If so did you tell the dealer ?

Unfortunately, this is like getting a flat tire, running the car to a safe place, ruining the aluminum rim and expecting the car company to cover the rim. If you had just stopped the ski when the carbon seal failed and called or radioed for a tow, your engine would not have hydrolocked, bent the rods and exploded a little later. This should be a lesson for all of us to try to notice if the ski feels heavy and investigate the problem and shut down asap... Ron

Why would they warranty it when you allowed enough water into the hull to cover the intake? Warranty cover manufactures defects and such. Not carelessness.
