You'll loose alot on top and you'll have to pitch way down... I've run 80,81,82 & 83 mm rings and by far the 82mm with 15/18.5 skat 3 blade is the best!!

Sorry, I had to correct myself..

You sure about that? I think an 86mm exit nozzle with the proper prop would gain alot on bottom but lose some on top.

DIGGS, go for it man. I think you may be the first, to post findings anyways. Vern was asking the same question a few days ago with little or no response. Let us know how it works for you. If you don't lose too much on top end, but gain a good amount on bottom end I may be interested in trying this.

i will post results as soon as i get everything on and try it out.
just waiting on the stuff to come.

i have a friend who has a 04 with the same exact mods as mine, except he bent his prop and is running the 83 nozzle ring. so we will be able to see which one accels faster and has better top.

he has already ran almost 81 in 90 degree temps with very muggy conditions.

how big is the nozzle opening if you remove the ring?

    90+

Never Measured Exactly In Mm Only In Inches ....will Check And See When I Change To The 86....but I Am Thinking It Is 90 Or 95 Maybe Bigger.

I think bigbuck has tried the Pro series nozzle with no ring----Didn't end up working for him.

The shape of the venturi is probably just as important as the size itself. I would assume that no ring would create turbulence.

It would be easy to think that it could be beneficial, like a flared J-pipe. I measured 88mm on mine, without a ring. I'll give it a try like that pretty soon.
