    HELP, impeller

I need to know where I can get a impeller for a 1996 slx 780 polaris.
Mine is simply worn out. Is there a aftermarket one that is good? Or should I stick to something stockish? No real mods done to the machine, if that matters at all.

Those are Skat Trak 15/20 impellers. You can get those at anyplace that sells Polaris parts. Around $200

Or you can send your stock impeller to Skat Trak to be rufurbished. Think it's around $80 plus shipping.

From what I have seen there seems to be a differance in part numbers between the sl780 and the slx780 is this true? Why would there be different part numbers? I have both the sl780 and the slx780 and from what I can see they are the same. A little guidance please........

The SLX is a 3 bladed Swirl 15-20 5131371 and the SL780 is a four bladed Progressive 5131079.

    Craig,

Explain worn out? Lack of thrust, dinged, broken? Any Pics?

My concern is tha tif you have a lack of thrust issue and it is really the clearance between the pump wall and impeller, just replacing the impeller might not solve your problem. You might want to find a complete pump.

Beerdart ---Sorry if I stopped a sale. I am having the same issue with one of my stand ups

I was told that is a clearance issue with the impeller and I was told we just needed to replace the impeller. When I rode it last it seemed to have a lull in the top end. Seems to be fine through the throttle but she flattens out at the top. Really not getting the top speed I had last year. I have lost about 10 MPH since I rode it last year. Parts replaced since last year include stator and I have cleaned and readjusted the carbs, If I lean her out anymore I might be in trouble. Any input would be good.

Check the clearance between the impeller and wear ring with a feeler gauge. MAX wear limit should be .020 with optimal being between .002 and .008.
