    Powervalve alternatives?

I just received my Waveeater clips and couplers and I attempted to install. Well after talking to Brad at Waveeaters my PVs have been changed to something that is billet aluminum and actually "captures" the pin so I don't need the clips. My ski is a 99 XL1200Ltd with 39hrs. Why would they have been changed?...preventive maintenance?...failure? If they failed wouldn't it have caused engine failure? My motor does not appear to have ever been disturbed.

    Three things you can do:

    1. Waveeater clips
    2. Billet powervalves
    3. Gas valves

The billet valves are stronger than the stockers, which, even though the waveeater clips retain the pin from falling out of its housing, they don't prevent the pin from actually breaking due to the resonances of the engine. I have billet valves, but in retrospect, probably should have gone with gas valves for the price of the billet jobbers

Those billet pices were offered by R&D and SBT they work great just a little more effort to install than the wave eaters. upgrade your couplers at least but otherwise you are fine.

It takes a little bit of work. You'll need to remove the entire exhaust in order to slide the powervalve actuator rod from the powervalve housings, but other than that, just pull the stock valves and replace them with the billet pieces.
