    Opinions on a 1997 SLT780

    Good Afternoon

I am going to look at a 97 SLT780 for a friend of mine tonight. I am not to familiar with the Fuji engines and was looking for some insight. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of the 780 motor. My friend loves riding my SLT700 and can get the 780 for $1000 on the trailer. I have only seen pictures, it looks pretty clean. What compression should I be looking for.

The 780 is quite bullet proof. Compression should be around 120 psi.

The fuji motors are dependable if well maintained. Stock compression is between 120-130 psi and w/in 5 to 10% of each other. If the machine has its original fuel lines (Tempo brand), they will need to be replaced. through the yrs the lines will start to break down and clog the carb filters w/ green sludge.
