    upset

ordered a starter off ebay, and got one that was all rusty and old, it was a replacement for a dead one they sent me the first time... (wouldnt even turn over) so now I am getting my money back. How can I test the starter without messsing it up? might keep this as a temp tell the new one gets here.... what are the signs of a weak starter?

Ground the body of it and touch the + to the post for testing.

A weak starter will turn slowly with a fresh charged battery.

Seller is RNR2stroke..... I test it and it spun really fast... what else am I looking for? is it supposed to spin in my hand with a torque pulling effect?

There's a good twist when you energize it. Other than that, all it has to do is spin pretty quick to engage the bendix.
