    bendix installation

    Guys, I need your expertise... lol whats the easiest way to get the front cover off to get to the bendix? would it be easier to remove the gas tank? its for a SL 780... ruled out the starter... the bendix teeth aint moving. Just need to how to get it off... guide not really too helpful. (got from mattmans)

    Remove the fuel tank and work through the hood.

    Remove the fuel supply hose.
    Loosen the mounting hardware for the tank (4 bolts).
    Move the tank toward the front of the craft.
    Remove the oil pump, it's just 2 screws and it frees up access to the other hardware holding the cover.
    Remove the front cover.
    Remove the flywheel.
    Replace the bendix.
    Observe the placement of the bendix washers.

    He meant to say oil tank, not pump.

    Also like he noted, the bendix thrust washers need to be put back on.
