does a 96 700 waveraider have overheat alarm?

just wondering if it does and if so, what does it sound like? is it a buzzer or beep noise?
can i test it somehow to make sure it works?

Doubt it, but i don't know.

To find out (accroding to service manual):
Connect battery and jump red to +, green to +, and black to - and then jump pink to black and see if you get a buzzer or blink or something. Or just refer to the manual, it has a drawing of all this.

I'd like a pic of your display though (front and back), to see how it differs from the other ones with fuel/oil/temp/etc. and if it would work in a 95'.

That is what i was thinking.

Could probably wire an LED in parallel to the cdi (like a car alarm lite or sumchit) on the dash that would light up when it overheats. (that's what i was about to do before i found a good deal on a gp1200 display)

i will take it as it doesn't have one. i was just wondering about it. as far as my display, i kinda altered it. it used to only have an oil light but mine is premix now so it is disconnected.
i now have a fuel gauge that i mounted inside that same display. i ordered it off the internet with the fuel float and all. ran my wires and mounted it in the gas tank and now i know how much fuel i have without opening the hull everytime.
