    Genesis Resonator Bypass

Has anyone bypassed the resonators. A backfire shredded one and it appears to be a total beotch to replace. Not looking at a performance increase, and I know there is a sound increase. Just need som pics and/or info on the parts if any and the process of doing it. Thanks in advance.

I'm not exactly sure what the Genesis PLANET system looks like, but if it's like the Virage TX one, then you can use an SLX exhaust hose to bypass the two main chambers. The third one will be a bit more difficult. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

I'll tell ya what it looks like is a total cluster F#@$! Whoever thought up of that system must have been really ticked off at service peeps. Anyway thanks for the input, this is what I am looking for. Any other suggestions or does anyone know if the above will pan out?

There are at least as many exhuast configurations as there are Weber applications. Purchase some hose and elbows, make some more noise and let us know how it affects your performance.

What did you end up finding?

I bypassed mine-done easily. Cut the 3 inch hose from the rt side near the left side where it goes to the resinator. The original hose from muffler will then go to the exhaust on the rt side if I remember correctly. The muffler will twist just enough to allow the hose to hook up to it. System is now bypassed. It IS louder but tolerable. I kept the hose I cut out in case I ever want to go back. The plastic bucket JUST fits back in in front of the newly positioned hose.

All reports I have seen over the years say the same thing. The Polaris PLANET exhaust resonators do NOT reduce engine power. They DO reduce noise levels.

I am actually considering ADDING some PLANET resonators to some older watercraft models
