Rotax Racing parts, what is the deal ?

Why is there such a lack of information on the parts sold as Rotax Racing parts ? You pay premium money for their parts but yet they will not tell you how to set it up.
Example- Their inter cooler and mounting kits, No diagrams, instructions, pics etc.

Their cam shafts- once again no info on the proper setup of this item. Unlike vehicle cam shafts that provide you setup info these to are another mystery.

You can ask around to forum members for help on these items for pics and instructions, but why do we have to ?

If the guys that have had any luck installing these parts could start a sticky for install info maybe that would help.

The thermo is pretty straight forward. It is just swapping the thermo units.

The only hard part is getting off those funky clamps on the Hoses.

What has always botherd me about installing the rotax racing cam. Thay have machined it so much that when you install the cam lock pin. the cam can move a couple degrees in either direction. And if you wanted to really take the time to put a degree on the engine to set cam timming. They don't provide a cam card like every camshaft company does

And for what they charge for that thing!! They should install it for you!!! .

Does anyone have the current part numbers for the Rotax cams ? Looking for the numbers that are on the cams and their intended use, ECU or EMS etc.

the ROTAX RACING Intercooler kit comes with 2 pages incl. color pictures Instruction !, you should buy from real ROTAX RACING dealers, also you get full support from the dealers, that is a reason why RIVA RACING dont have a ROTAX RACING contract, because they are not able to provide full support to the RACING products.
(btw, RIVA has allways perfekt Instruction for there stuff)

-2 ROTAX RACING Cams are available

    4224CAMSHAFT RACING LIGHT A / B -KIT 8500-8800 RPM

    6224CAMSHAFT RACING LIGHT C-KIT 8800 RPM +

    Malte,

When I purchased the Rotax Racing inter cooler it shipped to me from PPG, I had the understanding that they are Rotax Racing distributors. There was not anything enclosed with the IC that provided any help on installation.

How do you tell which cam it is by the numbers that appear on the cam shaft ?

What numbers appear on the 4224 and what numbers are on the 6224 ?

    doubtful.

I too ordered a RR thermo from Jerrys store(it came from PPG)....no instruction whatsoever. At least Riva gives you a sheet(albeit not very good)to work with.
