    Gp1200R Hybrid problems. 65U motor

    Hi guys, I am the one with the Gp1200 non pv engine in the GPR hull. Well somehow my engine is seized........Ran perfectly last time and now it just wont turn over. Oh well gonna rebuild the engine and want a little more reliable performance. Can I put factory 1300 cylinders on the non pv motor? Do I need the 1300 head? Or should I just use some aftermarket cylinders and pistons? Or should I just try to find a good used 1200 or 1300 pv engine?

    I want to order parts this week........Please help

    SSLowww down !!If you put it away in running condition and now it won't crank over?It could be your impellor stuck in the wear ring?This would be my first thought!Good luck!!>scott

    I agree find the problem and solve it or it will just persist. also No you can't put cylinders from a 66V (1200R) or 60T (1300R) on a set of cases from a 65U (1200 npv) motor.

    BTW I moved this to old school to get you the right kind of help.

    You guys are right........Lemme calm down a little. I was thinking the same thing. The ski ran perfect the last time I had it so I am just about sure that it cant be the engine. I will check the impeller in the am.

    I am a hp junkie kinda guy. My motorcycle got a turbo kit on it so I am always feeling the upgrade bug. I will let you guys know the results tomorrow.

    Ok the shaft was seized. A little penetrating oil and some muscle did the trick. Sorry for wasting you guys time.

    I won't be happy until i get a GP1300 . Need one soon!

    I sprayed the penetrating oil on the shaft that you can see through the intake grate facing the front of the ski. Guess the salt water reaks havoc on those parts. I got a can of wd40 with the straw that I will use from now on when my ski will be down for a couple weeks.

    was that back towards the impeller or in towards the motor?
    The only reason I ask, is because whatever was frozen is probably on its way out. And depending on the riding situation this could actually be dangerous.
    These parts are not very hard to change and not too expensive either.

    A quick fix that got you by in a pinch may come back to haunt you later. JMO
