Changing Matrix 200 for Ultra 250

    Hi,
Have been on the site for a while with my Matrix 200 first ski and have had heaps of fun and learnt a lot. Unfortunatley the ski is to loud for the areas I want to use it in and the power band is that vicious that the missis wont ride it so its time to change. Dont want to get something with less power so think a Ultra 250 would be the go.
Just wondering if this would be a good upgrade from the Matrix. Are there any issues with the 250, is the 2008 a good model or should I wait for the 2009. Are there any mods I should do straight away with a new 2008.

    Cheers
    John

Thats what I'm looking for the water around the west coast here gets pretty big. Whats the weight distribution like for wave jumping when they are full of gas ?

The 250 is not a wave-jumper, get yourself an ultra 150 if you want to sky it out.. I'm not saying the 250 wont jump, but you need a pretty substantial wave, which they instead want to cut-through and have a tendancy to flat land and that ain't fun.

    Hi Mate
I to live in Nelson and own a 250, its a great ski for our waters, loves the rough water, if you want it to jump, run a riva ride plate. Cheers

the ski is great for wave jumping as long as they are decent size rollers (4 feet or more)... plus the riva plate AND 2 Degree wedge make it land GREAT.

Small world. Sounds good. Matrix is in at G.P's at the moment getting it ready to sell. Hopefully will be on a new ski for summer.

It is a small world. I think Grant is offering some pretty good deals on 250s, he told me about one he sold that has come up for sale again in Picton, done only one hour and going cheap. Cheers
