    needs some advice on supercharger Shaft?

    I Was wondering on the SC shaft were the 16 tooth gear and the needle bearings go, is it suppose to be completely round, or does is have places where the needle bearings sit?

    THE SC gear exploded and Screwed up the double rowed gear, lucky that was the only two thing that were damanged. I Need to post some pics so you guys can tell me ya or na.

    Chris, the needle pins rest between the shaft and the gear. There is no special slots for them to fit in.

    also, check your timing chain carefully.

    well I'll still post the pics but I just realized the SC shaft is not spinnings perfect, here goes another $1000 fix.

    yea I know I think when the SC gear stopped and hit the the trased the fly wheel, the force of the hit made a imprint of the needle bearings on the shaft. Plus I think It also screwed up the Hybrid bearings and the Washers. The shaft Spins but some thing is nto right

    The SC shaft is probably bent.

    I recently rebuilt a supercharger that had a gear failure and the SC shaft was bent as a result.

    the one you rebuilt did it have metal washers?

    I Pulled everything apart and check everything I found most of the Bearing and metal shaving in the screen by the front oil pump. and some were in the rear, I check the cam gear and it was still fine. It did some damage to the front oil pump I'm sure you seen the order form the second is comming for the parts for the SC

    The crazy thing was that I was a mile away from the docks when it happen I was lucky because I was able to drive it back in.

    question since the friction Components changed from the Cermics washers to the Metal washers, what Should the Slipage be when I rebuild the SC again, I think when the Washers don't slip enough the SC trys to stop to quickly and grind all the teeth off the fly wheel Here is a PIC

    THe first is the fly wheel
    the second is a piece of the the 16 tooth gear
    the third is were the gear went flying off inside the cover

    No, they were ceramic.

    I like to set the slip moment to 9-10 ft lbs on a performance application.
