    RXP Speeds

Well we all talk about how fast our skis are but most fail to mention the altitude they are running at!
Is there anyone running at around 1100 to 1200ft above sea level that can remember what there stock RXP ran?
Just wandering where mine matches up!
I run between 65 to 66 or just a little better this summer with my stock 05!
    Thanks

That sounds about right I guess. The RXP is a weird ski as far as stock speeds are concerned. Boattest.com tested it at 65mph but watercraft world had it at 67mph and personal watercraft illustrated had it at 69mph. That's a 4mph difference. Mods to gain that much costs alot of money.

Most that you run into in real conditions average about 65mph but if you have the right conditions it goes higher.

Did you get it new? How much did it turn way back when? How much time on it now?

Would not suprise me for it to take that much away. I went from 470 feet running 8000 in 80 deg. to running 8200 in 95deg. at MudBug. Sounds right to me?

Check that your oil is not filled too high. That may help a bit.

I run at 1150ft. above sea level. Stock I NEVER turned lower than 8100 RPM @ WOT in ANY conditions (except chop of course). My average speed stock (compiled of 12 WOT runs in drage races) was 67.55mph.

I am at 3600 feet and can only turn 7500 rpms at 62.0 mph, but I am having some sort of problem that i cant figure out. The oil is in the middle of the two bends, and the wear ring has a few small grooves but nothin major that i would think could cost me 6 mph.

Ty, your RPM's are good for your extreme elevation. No way will a stock RXP run 68 mph at that elevation.
