In Endurance Racing,it takes 3 things to win,A solid dependable fast ski,a team to help with everything but driving, and a Rider that is in excellent physical shape with experiance. Without anyone of those factors, you won't finish. But don't ever think it just happen,You've trained hard, you've work your azz off with hours of seat time to be able to know the sea and how to ride it,and your just crazy enough to think you can do anything........ Can't blame that on me,I think you were already there before I meet you. I just wished I was out there for 6 months,so you could get me whipped back into shape like you are.You gave us something we haven't had in a long time...A responds to smart azzes that make a comment about us riding obsolete ski.......They still kick azz and win.

I got a chuckle at the article comment about the Polaris Matrix as being "OLD SCHOOL".

    Things move fast dont they...

Dave, you did good... and continue to do so.

Remember my comment about things not being "if" but "when."

Train on a lesser boat. Race on the monster!

    Great job, again.

    In the same boat?

Loose connection somewhere, perhaps in the battery charging or CDI exciter feed circuits?

Perhaps a faulty LR regulator or stator charging coil, that is spiking the electrical system DC voltage? Or intermittent stator exciter coil feeding the CDI?

How long would this engine run at WOT with the charging circuit disabled?

You might be able to install a charging system disconnect switch, and run the race on just the battery. No electrical spikes then, as long as the battery has the capacity to carry you through the race. You would need to do this properly, so the RPM signal remains vaild for the display.
