    Spitting/ sputtering help?

I was out on sunday on my modded rxp in my sig and towards the end of the day it started sputtering a little. First I really noticed this when tryin to hold 5000 rpm and then it started getting a little worse and was missing a little at lower rpm's and idle. The power seamed normal when I would hit the trottle but did not want to hold steady rpm. First I figure it was fouling a plug or maybe the i/c was leaking but the strang thing was that a couple times when it sputtered the gauges all shut off and came back on like I just put the lanyard in but it did not completely stall. So now I am thinking maybe a bad connection or mpem. I am wondering if when these skis stall for whatever reason do the gauges shut off. My reason for wondering this is because the gauges only went out when it would stubble hard more than a sputter. I have not had a chance to really check it out yet and figured i would ask first just in case there is something else I can check. It is under the best warranty but that is my last resort. any input would be appreciated.
    thanks
    Jim

    Jim,

The only time my ski sputtered was when my Riva/Vortec IC blew...Never dealt with the dash problem..Knock on wood

I would think it is an electrical problem..Check your battery.I have had one blow off 4 of the six caps and lost all the acid on my wifes ski..I have heard this from other members to about the batterys going bad.IF not i would start by checking all your connections...

I changed my spark plugs and no more sputtering. The strange part is that my gauges are working fine also.
