How to remove impeller nose cone???

Could someone share the procedure for removing the impeller nose cone....The "free speed" needs to be unleaseh on my RXP....Do you need to remove the pump? I am comforable tinkering in the engine bay but have never ventured near the pump or impeller on an of my skis....Someone boost my confidence so I can do this!

    Thanks in advance

    CWB

You need to remove the pump...check that out in the how to section.

From there you will be able to see the impeller and the impeller cone. Just unscrew the impeller cone to take it off...I believe you turn it to the right to loosen. Then reinstall the pump.

That was gonna be my next question cuz I wanna do this too. Will have to spray some good amount of water and salt away after each use but it's worth the free speed!

Don't take the tail cone off. Take the impeller cone off...it screws into the impeller and is black and made of rubber on a stock RXP impeller.

What are u all talking about?

There is no cone infront, bow side, of the impeller...there is a shaft, there is a Boot, nothing whatsoever resembling a cone. There is a tail cone, or impeller cover if you want to use BRP's term.

Can anyone take a picture, it's worth....well maybe not a 1000 words, but atleast a few swear words!

Perhape when referring to parts, we can reference...the BRP parts site, use part numbers and stuff. I've been trying to find this cone, but I think the fairy stole [email protected], I see her again, I'm shooting her!

Like it was mentioned already, it's the rubber piece on the stock impeller and you unscrew it, there is no other part in the back that you unscrew, you have to take the bolts out the tail cone to take it out not manually unscrew it.

I think I will be doing this tomorrow after work! Or maybe I should do it next week just so I can get some numbers with the riva grate and skegs first....huh....Next week it is to see if I truly gain something.

It's the GREEN thing on this Solas prop. It's BLACK on the stock RXP prop.

It's also called a Billet Impeller Cone.
