    There is an optional (so I have read, but I have never seen one) Polaris depth sensor module that is mounted (glued) onto the bottom of the hull (inside). It plugs into a separate connector on the back of the MFI.

    Once the depth sensor is connected to the MFI (rightmost connector in the photo), there is a button sequence on the display to activate it, if it does not automatically activate.

    I too am interested in the depth sensor option. I would like to know if there is some sort of electrical connection 'standard' for these depth sensors, or if only a Polaris unit will work with the MFI.

    My 2001 genesis has the transducer gluded to inside of hull. I was shown how to get it on the display, but did not pay very close attention. Looking for help to work the display.
    thanks ,Scott

    Could you post a few pictures of what the transducer installation looks like?

    If you get it working, a photo of the actual depth display in action would be nice to see, for the record.

    From my 2002 Polaris Owner's manual;

    MFI Operation: DEPTH GAUGE

    After depth sensor installation is complete, press and hold the 3/8 and 4/9 buttons simultaneously for several seconds to activate the DEPTH GAUGE function.

    The display will read "SONAR ON", and the depth digits under the fuel and oil gauges will display depth in either feet or meters.

    If the sensor is not found, the MFI will automatically cancel the DEPTH GAUGE function.

    The DEPTH GAUGE will display water depth below the hull from 0 to 199 feet (0 to 75 meters). The readout is accurate to approximately 45mph (70kph). The display will flash "- -" if depth tracking is lost.

    To disable the DEPTH GAUGE, simply press and hold the 3/8 and 4/9 buttons simultaneously for several seconds until "SONAR OFF" is displayed.

    Does anyone know where to buy a depth sensor (transducer) for the genesis i? Can we install a generic transducer or does it has to be the Polaris specific model (this is very hard to find). If someone knows and equivalent please let us know.
