    better insert than helicoil?

On one of my XLT's the person before me must have stripped a pump shoe thread (for the rear intake grate). They used some type of thick threaded insert. Much bigger/deeper than a helicoil.

Well now I've stripped the other thread! I'd rather use the same one the previous person used so they match. I have a helicoil that fits, but don't want to use that unless I have to.

    Suggestions?

also... it looks like it might even be bigger than time-serts. Although I've never used time-serts. I don't think anyone locally sells them.

timeserts come in different lengths... I have some timesert inserts in stock if you can get it out

drive a torx bit in it and see if it will unscrew
