better insert than helicoil?
On one of my XLT's the person before me must have stripped a pump shoe thread (for the rear intake grate). They used some type of thick threaded insert. Much bigger/deeper than a helicoil.
Well now I've stripped the other thread! I'd rather use the same one the previous person used so they match. I have a helicoil that fits, but don't want to use that unless I have to.

also... it looks like it might even be bigger than time-serts. Although I've never used time-serts. I don't think anyone locally sells them.

broken SS screw on alum piece... bit slip = worthless pump shoe
Didn't go so well. Next time I'll wait the few hours and use a drill press!
