    Help me read my plugs.

Just pulled the plugs out of my waveraider to see how its running. The color looks good to me for the most part, but some parts are darker than others so I just figured I'd post some pics and see what everyone thinks.

first pic is mag, then pto, then center cylinder

Thanks in advance for the help, I searched for how to read plugs, but I couldn't find any pics that looked the same as mine.

my plugs look tan for the most part, but they fade to almost black on one side. I searched for a while and didn't find anything similar. Could this be from too high of a premix ratio.

BTW I always try to search before posting, I Don't mean to clog the forum up w/ multiple threads about the same issue.

those look good.....as long as you see a pretty even color between the three that should be fine...

Your plug reading can vary greatly depending on idle time, WOT time and crusing. For the high side - the best way to do it is to run wide open for 10-15 seconds and cut the throttle. Let the plugs sit a few minutes and snap a picture.

You can do the same for the middle etc...

This is also a good read

All that said DO NOT RELY ON PLUG READINGS ALONE. There are so many additives in our fuel now it can be misleading.

Thats just what I want to do on a 1100 Raider, run full throttle and cut it off at speed. Might be a good way to go for a swim. No, it IS a good way, been there, done that. Seriously, you want to be carefull doing that on your boat.
Sometimes a good way to read is to look inside the plug holes at the tops of the pistons, its called piston wash, and a search will give you some ideas on how they should look. Dry and crusty is dangerously lean.
