Skip's Mental Mahaim's
Just pics for now. Ill explain all this later in this thread. Dont ask me questions or ask me to discus this because I wont. If that pisses you off then sorry, you dont like what I'm doing then sorry, you dont like how I do it then sorry and if you dont like me then sorry about that too. This thread is going to be my mental dumping ground of stuff. Some to F'ed up to go into some too expensive to make sense and alot of showing cool stuff.
This thread will not follow much for too long. Your going to have to follow it and keep up with the boats as characters in Skips life story. You'll find me jump from one boat to another and ofter refer to other boats I build as displays or examples.
Projects will include stuff from;
Project 250X------ sold
Ultra Carbon Project
Black Mamba Project.
The following are pics from when I first got the UltraLite hull. Then some pics of the seat and hood, next it goes to paint to be Murdered Out!

Here are some of the UltraLite when finished.
My guys at Dave's Auto Body always hook me up with some damn fine paint work and handle with professional with complete care. That was a plug if ya didn't get it....
I opted to cover the hole in the hood where the Fuel cap usually is. I will be relocating the fuel spout and cap to another location. It made the boat look more complete.
I also opted to use stock side moldings. I'm not really sure why. Still some shots show how I am install the rails. New the rails are straight and have to be clamped down to form to the boat.
Also trying out weather I like Red or White, also I'm ordering in some silver ones to see how I like that color.

OK some explaining, we all know that the Ultra hull alone is one big heavy monster. This weight and design in stock form makes for an awsome rough water boat. Still it weighs in at 423 lbs with just hull alone, thats no seat or hood or glove box or anything. Just the hull. Picture below is of the doner boat for the FrankinSki Project
Also the stock hull has a deep V design, great for offshore and cutting through water but we wanna glide over with little effort. This gliding or flat running helps maximize the power that we already have in the Ultra 250 motor. Instead of plowing water we are know scooting over water. Mind you it will be a much different ride with th Ultralite hull has dropped 45% and FrankinSki dropping 35% of that weight off. Using the 15F bottom hull as our bottom half design and the 250 as our top half design. The goal here is to drop the weight, increase the HP and produce such a wieght to HP advantage that will make for a hard and fast moving craft.
Here are some shots of motor alignment and the bottom half as it is fitted and getting ready to be glued to the top half. Lots of preparations go into making every thing True and Level. Every thing is tested and aligned to fit perfect into the 15F bottom half.
These shots are of Frankinski. being constructed....

Thanks for all the encouraging comments, I do enjoy the input but I needed to make room this is going to go on for some time. So lets step back a bit and show some of the prep work thats needed for these hand layed huls. Below is pics of another one we are building in conjunction with UltraLite we are calling her the UltraCarbon.
I go over every inch to circle anything I dont, these things come out of the molds needed some attention.
Now I showing you the trim tabs we have to add to keep this one in the water. without em and she would be popping wheelies all over the place.
Do I need to explain the wheelie bars now?
Dont ask how much. Its over 11k for just the top&bottom hull alone. Then add the seat and the hood.
The projects go on and on.

Freaking totally rad... I love you guys that spend bucks on your skis... kinda depressing to the few that don't have the extra cash... but ski porn is better normal porn!
Does it make one odd, to appreciate ski porn more than actual porn?

Lets take a step back in time to the FrankinSki project. In this project we cut apart an brand new Ultra 250 to get the top and motor parts out of so we could build a new boat out of it.
Some shots of the tear down and the building of Frankinski.
First shot is of the donor body that we are going to tear apart.
This one is of me putting the Old Lady to work. She can cook and turn a wrench. Just gotta get her to do both at the same time. Better not then she would want to teach me how to listen to her while I turn a wrench.
Here is a pic of the carnage.....
Here is the donor being sent off to California where she will be cut open like a melon.
Once she made it to Cali I flew out to get to work on transplanting the heart.
As you can see we had plenty of space to work on the motor parts. Easiest Pulley Kit I ever installed.
Here is were we prepped for a drop in of the motor. Simply the easiest way to install a motor. Did it just like Factory Kawi does it.
The drop in almost complete.
Ah the complete burrito ready to be wrapped.
I opted to get some belts in there now for later use,

Satisfying my needs for sure! You guys are great!

OHHHHH SHIT! The Black Mamba.... What about her and how the hell did we come up with that. Well I was reading a PWI mag and came across Kevins Project 250 boat called the Cooperhead. Looked good in the mag but we naver really saw it again.
So the itch came on to help a friend out and we made the Black Mamba.
Some shots of the body work and Hull trueing we did. Notice the large dip in the rear section of the hull. We call this the hook,
Some of the finished paint work.
Here are some of the stickers going on.
Here is the motor, we keep em clean and reliable.
