Reed pedal clearance - SLT 750 bogging down @ 3500 RPM

My SLT 750 started bogging down at around 3500 RPM with short intermittent spikes of about half a second. I pulled the carbs again and they were clean, but this time I also pulled the reeds.

All but 1 reed pedal sets are completely flush with their seat. Only one set has the .015" clearance (see image below) the manual says they should have. Could this be my problem?

Hmm I think I get it. They should all be seating and the manual illustration is to show that a gap can exist but no larger than .015

    Does that make sense?

That would be correct, the reeds should sit flush to seal properly. Did you happen to go through the entire fuel system for your bogging problem?

No I haven't and I guess that stock pump can be problematic.

Rob you wouldn't happen to have a source in Canada for a tripple output pump?

I think the triple outlet 'upgrade' fuel pump is actually the standard Polaris Fuji fuel pump for the 780 Fuji engine PWC models.

    1996-1997 780 part number 3240291

Here are a few Ontario Polaris parts sources

Thanks K447 I thought for sure they were aftermarket only.

That is correct the 780's used a high volume three outlet stock. They come up on e-bay all the time..

Skoots, the best place to buy the tripple pump from Canada is Royal Distributing.

    http://www.royaldistributing.com

They are in Guelph ON. If you order before 3 pm, I usually get my parts via Puralator the next morning (in Montreal that is).

I use them for all my snowmobile parts. I really like them.

Guys I checked with Blacks and Ontario Power Sports, they don't have the pump.

Rob's source seems to sell aftermarket pumps, but the triple outlet one doesn't mention "High Flow" like the second one on the right. Which one should I buy? Actually I'm looking to buy 2 so I want to make sure I get good ones

Rob are you currently using that pump?

I have two pumps from Royal Distributing; one in my sl650 and one in my sl750. Royal Distributing is only after market parts. I am 99% sure that is the high output pump(DF-52-92). I remember doing a search before purchasing them, and it was the same mikuni part #

If you do order from them, you can also get some fuel filters, or other small stuff. (lanyards, fuel line, etc)

If you want to be safe wait for someone to confirm the part #. It shouldn't take long.
