    Low RPMS -- Help

I just picked up the RXP today, I got a great deal on it, and it's in excellent condition. It only has 9.5 hours on it, but I'm noticing its maxing out at 7600 RPMs on the nose, sometimes dropping to 7550 depending on conditions. The dreamo was reading 69 -- which sounds about right comparing with other peoples RXP's-- I checked the oil and it was about a 1/3 of the way up between the bends. I also noticed that it would hesitate at about 6200 rpms, jumping up and down about 200 RPMs even on glass.

    What do you guys think?

It sounds like you are over-propped if you are close to 69 mph. You might try pulling the pump to see which impeller is in there... Ron

Its completely stock -- "69" is from the Speedometer built in the ski -- not the actual speed.

I also noticed that when ran out of the water, from the back of the ski, an intense rattling can be heard.. I have no idea what it is.. I'll get a video up tomorrow morning.

Well, the 69 is not accurate. What SC washers does it have? Have you looked at the prop/wear ring for damage? Those are the first things you should look at.

Does it sound like spoons being rattled together? If so, that's normal.

Currently, they're ceramic but metal's are on their way. How do I check the wear ring? and the prop?

You ned to pull the pump and check the condition of the prop and wear ring. Here are step by step instructions for this job:

In the case that it is the prop or the wear ring, what would happen to it if it was ridden for a few hours ..?

Nothing but bad performance. BUT, if it were me, I would not ride it until the metal SC washers were installed. The low RPM might be sign of a slipping clutch. If it is, you could lose the ceramic washers at any time. If that happens, get ready for a BIG repair bill.
