    Carb setup

Ive got a 2001 GP1200R with mods as listed:Free flow exhaust, D-plate, IR holeshot kit, trim tabs, intake grate, rideplate, pumpseal kit, 13/19 solas, flame arrestors,R&D nose cone and clips and couplers. It has remote jet adjusters on the top and have been told they are crap because you really cant tell what they have really turned the needles because of the flex. So..I have 125 mains and 110 pilots coming from carl and the stock top neddles are going back in.My question?I have a guy tuning this for me on the lake next week as well as adding the oil block kit. With these mods what should I tell him to set the jets at? Any advise will be great.

are you changing to the 1.5 needle and seat with 95gram dull silver spring too? I am sure Carl would have recommended this. if so 1 turn on the low screw 1-1/2 on the high. if those remote adjusters are the Cross Bones one they work fine. all I can say is pack around the opening with grease to prevent water intrusion or these or the stock ones will freeze and you will be in a world of hurt.

95 gram spring yes.As far as the 1.5 needle and seat im not sure. The guy before me had some carb work done.I have 3 dull silver needles and 3 gold seats. Not sure if these are the stock ones he saved. As far as the remote adjusters. They are a heavy wire covered with like a blue rubber. They do flex when you turn them.

Aren't 1.5 stock on a 01 gp1200r?Or are they 1.2?It has flame arrestors on it so wouldn't it be safe to say they would have been changed when that mod was added?

pull the seat out and look at the bottom side. The size is stamped there. it is small so you may need a loupe or magnifying glass, I did. learned that from oside!

1.2 or 1.5, not a big difference. Set them the way Osidebill said to and you should be fine. The 125 mains are plenty safe and you should be able to go in on the screws from there.
