Oil Filter Cap? Good Oil Pump, Mine Sucks!

Where is the oil filter located in the engine bay? Also, it took me like 2 hours to get all the oil out, what kind of pump are you guys using? I tried to use a 5 dollar syphon, then a 9 dollar suction gun, both sucked!

    I have a SHURFLO pump.

    ONLY $149 haha

It's great because you can just hook it right up to the battery, sucks it out in like 2 min!

It is on the Stern/Aft side of the motor. If you have a GTX/RXT you have to remove that large black tube under the second seat and move the coolant tank out of the way.

You do realize it doesn't look like an automotive filter, it's not a screw on thing. You have to remove the cap, and pull out the, what looks like a lawnmower air filter.

When you buy your first Oil filter, ask for the two O rings for the cap. YOU MAY need to replace them. Inspect them carefully when you remove the cap, if you see anything wrong with them, replace them as needed, if you dont have to, then you have them for the next time you change the filter.

Most places reccomend to replace the O rings every time. Who knows.

Make sure your engine is at operating temperature when you suck out your oil. Its next to impossible to suck out cold oil.

Ohh yeah, and put a glove on, or use a rag to hold the suction tube, since the oil with be screaming hot!

And as you get to the end of the suction, slide the tube in an out...ohh yeah...just like that..ohh...and try to push it in further, sometimes the tube will get into some spot to get more oil out.
