2"-4" rise is common, advantages for rec riding, don't know about that, most racers use 2"-4" rise.

They're nice seats you'll like it if you get one, they come in a lot of different color patterns, just be careful which material you pick, some material is bad on bare skin.

here is 2" raised seat pic for the 96xp(I think), it's what I have

I could be wrong on the height, not sure if it 2" or 4".

Get the meduim slip, and not the non slip, the non slip will eat your skin up.

I have the med. slip on both my GSX's and it is great for bare skin...and looks good too!

For my super stock xpl I just picked up a seat cover with the suede type material that is gorgeous.......I'lll take the rash on my legs for the grip and the look.

Yes, but I don't like them. They change the center of gravity because your body height is lifted. If you are over 6' 6" then most prefer this seat. I'm 5'11", and like to dig low in the turns...

i'm 6' and use a 4" rise jettrim no slip seat. it puts you at a ncie angle of attack when banging turns. i personally like both hump seat with no rise and 4" rise. takes getting used to though.

a short guy prolly wouldn't dig it.
