Just some food for thought. The Seadoo is Fiberglass and made to have the ring. (reinforced) The 1300R is made to be light. So much so they had to change the way the ride shoe was secured in the bottom so the nuts didnt pull through.. First Year Recall. Look at the ride shoe nuts in your hull if you think I am full of it. They are no longer individual the are double joined together. It doubles the surface area to keep the nut from pulling through..... I suggest You make some reinforcing in the area you mount that hook.. Especialy if you plan on towing Ski's...

it is a good sugestion to reinforce this area, even though i have towed two skiers all the time 3 kneeboards at once, etc even towed a seadoo with my hook and i havent reinforced this area yet, been using it for over 80 hours no dramas and it gets used almost every time i ride my 03 as it is my tow ski, i have been meaning to but just havent got around to it. but i would not say the SMC hull of the 1300r was weak by any means, it was just a poor desighn for the brackets pre 05...as long as you use the reinforcement bracket pictured im sure it will be fine but still i would reinforce that area just incase....

If you look @ every other fastener on top half of the hull you will see a backing plate of some sort. Make one for your tow eye.

I put a tow ring on mine as well. I reinforced the back by applying 4 layers of fiberglass to the whole back area. I took the battery tray out and the exhaust and went to town on it. It was a little bit of work, but puts my mind at ease.
