    1992 SL 650 again

Is it possible to assemble the cylinders and the exaust manifold then get the motor back in the ski? I had a hell of a time removing the motor. I realize the exaust pipe must come of to do so. It would be so much easier to replace all the exaust and cylinder gaskets, torque them down and wrestle the motor back in if that is possible. Has any one out there done this? It sure would be great if someone had some tips on this! The shop manual I have is of little use in this area.

Yes it can be done. I've done it.

It helps to have a buddy lending a hand as the engine is around 80 lbs and you need to lift and roll simultaneously.
