1992 SL 650 set me straight with leak test

I performed the leak down test and it passed. But here is where I am a little confused. Lets say it did not and none of my test set up was leaking, none of the blinds or base gaskets or head gaskets are leaking, no visible leaking with soapy water anywhere. But I have a leak in the top water return rail or the 2 half inch bottom cooling hoses. If this was the case would I be looking at a cracked block or cylinder? I am a little confused at what means what. Thanks again for all the help!!!

Leak down test is checking for air leaks into the crankcase.

If you have a cooling system leak, you will have water leaking when it's pressurized while riding.
