Remove the gray wire that runs from the CDI. The 780's has limp mode for low fuel low oil and over heat. After you find if that works you need to correct the problem that is triggering the limp.

Bravo senor beerdart, you saved the day.I dont think anything else is problem,The oil tank level is above 3/4 and showing, fuel level is not working correctly, and does the overheat sensor, stay in open position and go to ground when hot or stay grounded and open circuit when hot???By unplugging grey wire ,instantly fixed problem, I have overheat sensor ,its cold and even if its unplugged from board the rev limit still shuts off at 4k when grey wire is connected. Is the fuel sending unit also part of the rev or limp mode??or is it just heat and low oil level,am working blind here with no manual yet am pretty good with a multi-function tester. If the heat sensor was triggering it,it should run fine if its unplugged correct?Since the fuel gauge is not working correctly,I'm thinking ,if it is part of limp mode that there is problem,Are the two flat squares on end of printed board the voltage regulators??or are they part of the cdi also?I am thinking those gauges of polaris go bad often, is it possible for fuel gauge to be bad in panel or sending unit in tank to cause limp to engauge???I have access to a complete running well 780(my wifes) but I am very hesitant to swap parts now with polaris out of buisness. Before I would not hesitate to check out an electrical part from my wifes ski to check out a customers without buying part first.I have saved my customers many dollars in long run ,by keeping spare electrical parts to swap during troubleshooting.thanks for all your help let me know what you think please!!!>Marvin

The fuel sender floats have been known to get gas logged and sink. Replace the float and all will be good..

Hmmm - reboot and try again. It is a fairly large PDF file.

Also make sure you have the most current version of Adobe Acrobat and web browers. I use Firefox.

The same files should be available at this web site (when it is working).
