Oil Pump Block Off ... 951

    Hey everyone,

I know ive been flooding this forum with stupid questions about my 98 GSX Limited over the past couple of days, but heres another one:

I installed an oil block off and have been pre mixing, is there any reason i need to keep the oil pump in the ski? Theres only one line coming off of the oil tank which goes to the pump on the stator cover.

My question is: Can i take the pump out and remove the oil from the oil tank? It doesnt appear to me that theres any crankcase oilng and it gets oiled by the premix, just leaving the oil to be inserted into the counterbalance chamber.

    What to do!?
    Thanks!

There is no rotary valve on the 951 (uses reeds instead), so there is no RV cavity to lubricate. Pull away on the pump and tank. Find some vinyl caps to install over the stock oil injection barbs and zip-tie tightly.

They don't actually go to the carbs...they go to the intake. Yes, those.

Good job! You should also pull the carbs and clean the accelerator pump orifice and internal filter screens if you haven't done so yet.

The accelerator pumps are getting removed and 95 lows put in as per the sticky at top, filters will get cleaned ... also have the jets that match up to the rossier engineering jet kit , and a ADA racing 50cc dome head thats gonna go on this ... was gonna buy a solas 15/20 while i was at it but since i gotta replace the jet pump stuff that may have to wait ...

You will be running lean as hell and sieze the engine like that.

Take out all of the oil tank/pump and all lines and screw the blanking plate over the hole that the pump was in after removing the driving gear from the inside of the mag cover, then push the two caps over the two oil inlet nipples under your carbs and zip tie them in place. Job done. Then pre-mix your fuel and oil at 40:1.
