Try cranking it up on the trailer before you put it in the water so its already warmed up. Starts much easier than dead cold w/ the added drag of the impeller in the water...

If the battery is weak, water resistance may be making the difference.

battery is cranking at 12 volts so that isnt the problem

Have you tried cutting the plug wires back a bit to see if the connection to the plug boot is bad?

Also check for poor ground connections and weak coils.

also i had the same kinda problem i did the wire trick it seemed to help just a little bit , but then i installed new plugs that were gapped correctly so you might wanna check and make sure yours are at 28-32 mine some how were gapped to 45-50 surprised it even ran or i didnt notice it when i reinstalled them to see if they were fireing

does it revs to a good amoun of rpms out of the water ,

and if you try all these things that we throw out might wanna check the compression ,crank it make sure you get spark on all clys ,

have check compression and spark. They are fine. I will go through all the suggestions this weekend hopefully. I have to find time have a wedding to go to on saturday so we will see when i can get at it. It revs fine out of water and seems to be running great out of water. Let me check the coils and spark plug gaps cause all I remember was just putting in the plugs and not checking the gap on them. Yeah that is me being lazy. But thanks for the ideas.

Crank index? A twisted crank can run great on the trailer and will be a turd in the water.

Check that if everything else is looking ok.

Try tightening all your hoses you might have a an air leak . I had the same problem tightened all hoses and it started right up .
