Why the painting of black GPR is so thin?

Hi guys. I do not let my 07 GPR stuck in the sand, it is always floating in the water, but even so the painting of the hull is peeling off in some places. If something hits the hull under the water (like some small piece of wood), rather than make a small mark, a piece of painting leaves. I have never seen this happen with white GPRs. What's the difference? Anyone with same kind of problem?
    Thanks in advance....Fernando

the difference isnt the thickness of the paint its the fact that underneath is white so when u scuff up a white ski its not as noticeable as when u scratch a black hull and there is white underneath

i never had a white ski but i think also is that the black gprs are SMC while the previous years were heavier and made of fiberglass. Might have something to do with it
The hull on my ski is VERY fragile as well

All gpr's from 03 forward are SMC... But the fact is black shows more so you see it more... I have a friends xlt in my garage rite now thats white and his hull looks clean from 5 feet away... Up close its a disaster...

    All factory gpr's are SMC.

    The hulls are extremely tough.

However, paint was never meant to hold up to rocks and sand. If you don't believe me, then go grab a handful of wet sand and start rubbing it up, and down the side of your car, with about 700lbs of force between the two.

I read on here that the new SHO GPR are flaking paint at the intake area. Take a look at that, and see if this relates to what you are seeing. But if you are stating that your paint is coming off due to rocks and sand, then you might be wanting something that paint can't protect.

    Thanks for the answers, guys.
I never beach my GPR. I use an anchor so I don't have problems with sand and rocks. But when i sold my old 01 GP800R, all damages were scratches and marks because of trailer cradle, never a entire piece of paint came off. My 07 GPR is dark grey under black paint, but I think Yamaha white hulls have some stronger paint.

Mark, it's the same problem reported by SHO guys, but not near intake. In fact, I think some wood hit the hull, but it has no scratches, just a piece of paint is off.. Sorry about my poor English, I am from Brazil
